Canyon elopement in Iceland | Brittany & Shane

Canyon elopement in Iceland.

Brittany and Shane embarked on a straightforward and adventurous elopement in Iceland, prioritizing privacy and unique experiences over traditional grandeur. Their day unfolded with a private ceremony in a secluded location, accessible only by a 40-minute uphill hike close to the glaciers. Adding a touch of thrill to their celebration, the couple's "wedding car" was a private plane ride, soaring over black sand beaches and glaciers. This blog post details their pragmatic and adventurous approach to eloping in Iceland.

They took a chance on me when I suggested their elopement day be far away from popular tourist locations. For Brittany and Shane, it was important to have some privacy in the locations during their Iceland elopement and not have a feeling they needed to be rushing from location to location to beat out the tourist crowds. And it was also important for them that they would remember throughout the day why they were eloping.

They enjoyed every moment of it; seeing more of Iceland's untouched terrain and having a beautiful ceremony in the heart of the country.
As both of them enjoyed travelling, more remote locations weren't out of the question.

Brittany and Shane also wanted anything but a big and traditional wedding. So how did they do it differently?

Firstly they chose a more private ceremony location. The decision to hike for 50 minutes uphill to a secluded spot close to the glaciers reflected the couple's commitment to finding a unique and private setting. The effort invested in reaching the location added to the exclusivity of their elopement. The effort put into the hike was rewarded with a breathtaking backdrop for the ceremony. The proximity to the glaciers added a touch of raw and untouched beauty to the couple's exchange of vows. They also drank Viking horns during their ceremony. The duo tied the knot in a ceremony overlooking the magnificent landscape of a canyon. They chose each other's company and the incomparable beauty of Iceland to mark the day.

Secondly Brittany & Shanes's "wedding car" was a private plane ride which they were excited about. The private plane ride allowed Brittany and Shane to soar over black sand beaches and glaciers, providing a unique perspective of Iceland's diverse and stunning terrain.

By ending their day at a private beach, we got a bit crazy with the champagne popping and the wind came and washed my hair with the champagne! :D We laughed so hard!

Brittany and Shane's decision to eschew traditional norms in favour of a private ceremony and an aerial adventure exemplified their prioritization of unique experiences over conventional expectations. The couple's elopement day wasn't just a celebration; it was a carefully curated collection of experiences. From the hike to the secluded ceremony spot to the exhilarating plane ride, each element contributed to an unforgettable day.
