“If you are looking for someone in Iceland, you'd better pray Lisa is available, as she will blow your socks off.” -Chris

All you need to worry about is what you are going to say when proposing. We’ll take care of the rest.

You're in the good hands of Iceland’s proposal experts.

Proposals in Iceland? Kinda our second name.

We photograph around 60 of them every year, so you could say we’ve mastered the art of “holy sh*t, did that just happen?!”

From surprise helicopter landings on snow-covered peaks to private moments inside glowing blue ice caves — with nothing but the northern lights and maybe an arctic fox as your witnesses — we’re here for all of it.
You’ll have a team who knows Iceland like their own backyard (because it literally is) and who’s just as hyped about this moment as you are.

Big feelings, big landscapes, zero stress. Let’s make this proposal unforgettable.

Hi, I’m Lisa! Proposal photographer & planner.

📍 Local to South Iceland — AKA proposal paradise with black sand beaches, glaciers, and ice caves in my backyard.

🥷 Stealth mode: activated — I’ve got a black belt in sneaking, hiding, and catching the moment without giving it away. No awkward lurking. Just ninja-level proposal coverage.

🧭 Proposal planner + emotional support human — I’ll help map out the where, the how, and the OMG-it ‘s-happening. With backup Plans B and C (because Iceland loves a good plot twist).

💥 Signature move?
Ice cave “Will you marry me’s,” glacier-top yeses, and helicopter landings that make jaws drop.

Hi, I’m Ondrej! Proposal photographer.

📍 Based in Vík, South Iceland — where waterfalls roar, black sand beaches stretch for miles, and lava fields hide the best secrets. This isn’t just where I work — it’s where I live, breathe, and explore daily.

🥷 Stealth-level expert — I’ve mastered the art of hiding in plain sight, camera-ready, without ruining the surprise.

🗺️ Knows every hidden trail and sneaky lava nook — No GPS needed. I know this land like the back of my hand, which means we’ll avoid crowds and get you those wild, cinematic “just us” vibes.

💥 Signature proposal power moves? Waterfall smooches. Black sand beach “Will you marry me?” moments.

Kind words:

“For anyone looking for an energetic, organised, friendly and professional, Lisa is the person to go! She would often also check in with me to see how I was doing and if there was anything else that she could do to help, including offering me tips to remain calm on the day. She also went above and beyond to organise a bouquet of flowers for the day as well.”

-Karn

“Lisa was simply extraordinary and truly went above and beyond in every aspect. She left no stone unturned in the whole process, from the ideation phase of how I would propose, to suggesting locations, to coordinating our excursion to the ice caves, to sharing dozens of places to visit and restaurants to explore.”

- Chris

“She listened to all of our requests and ideas, making us feel valued and heard. Her ability to plan and adapt to changing weather conditions was commendable, ensuring our safety and a stress-free experience. Her quick communication and disguised approach added an extra layer of surprise and authenticity to our special day.”

-Eric

“If you are currently looking for a photographer for your engagement, look no further as Lisa is perfect! She truly made that day a magical experience and it wouldn’t have been the same without her.”

-Kevin

The idea of proposing in Iceland—this wild, jaw-dropping, romantic land—is absolutely perfect. But then reality kicks in: you're planning a once-in-a-lifetime moment, halfway across the world, in a country you might never have been to.

Suddenly, the dream feels... kind of overwhelming.

Where do you even begin? How do you choose a location? How do you keep it a surprise? What if something goes wrong? How do you make sure it’s perfect?

Here’s where you will be getting all the help.

This is not just photography—it’s full-on proposal planning support.

“Is this really worth the investment?”

It’s a question a lot of people ask themselves, especially when they first start planning a proposal and thinking of having it captured in pictures.

After all, it’s “just one moment,” right?

But here’s the truth: this one moment will become one of the most emotional, unforgettable stories of your lives. Your journey to get married.

And how you plan it—and capture it—makes all the difference.

You’re not just hiring someone to take pictures. You’re investing in confidence, support, and a memory that lasts forever.

Proposal planning resources

What to expect from proposing in Iceland.

If you’re willing to uproot your life, throw caution to the wind and run off to the most gorgeous country in the world — Iceland is your kind of place.

How you want to create the proposal is up to you and from several experiences to choose from! From proposing by a waterfall, under the northern lights, enjoying a picnic together or even hiking in the beauty of the highlands.

What to know about proposing in Iceland.

  1. If you plan on proposing under the northern lights, the best chance to see them is during September till April.

  2. Think beforehand about what you are going to say once you kneel to propose.

  3. Consider the location; should it be private or public? Some of the most visited locations in Iceland (Black Sand Beach and Seljalandsfoss for example) are heavily visited by tourists during summertime and can be filled out by tourists everywhere. Do you want the proposal to happen in an area where are only the two of you or would you mind popping the question around several people?

4. Remember to breathe. Anyone who proposes knows it will be a very exciting moment. Remember to take a couple of deep breaths to calm the nerves before popping out the question.

5. Expect the unexpected. Be prepared for Iceland's weather changes. Depending on the time of the year, there can be weather alerts and you need to postpone the proposal on being photographed.

What to wear while proposing in Iceland.

Curious about what to wear in your proposal? Iceland might hold the record for most days of rain per year, but you can still enjoy your day fully!

If you planning to keep the proposal as a complete surprise without having any couple pictures taken beforehand, make sure the clothes you have are waterproof because of the rains in Iceland.

If you have booked a couple of photographs and will be surprised with a proposal, then it’s easier to decide what clothes to wear.

Bring different outfits. If you want to change your outfits while we are switching locations, that is more than fine! Everybody has their own style and you can always send me photos of the outfits. It's important to keep you warm between the photos since Iceland's wind can be sometimes a bit chilly. Also, you can wear clothes that make you feel confident but with you can move easily.

Complement your outfits, don't only match. By using complementary colours, for instance, you can make the final look stronger. Use of the same colour family is also possible, but use different strengths in that case. In Iceland, colours like red, white and blue do pop out nicely.

Make sure you have waterproof shoes. Iceland is not made for high heels!
