Skogafoss elopement in Iceland I Morgan & Rob

Skogafoss elopement in Iceland.

Iceland, the land of breathtaking landscapes, dramatic waterfalls, and otherworldly scenery, is a dream destination for adventurers in love. Morgan and Rob were no exception. They had their hearts set on an elopement in this enchanting country, a day filled with multiple locations to explore and countless photo opportunities. Little did they know, Iceland had its own plans, and it included a fair amount of rain.

As they embarked on this adventurous journey with their family, Morgan and Rob knew that the weather in Iceland could be unpredictable. They were prepared for the possibility of rain but were hopeful that the weather would be on their side. Nevertheless, they packed their waterproof gear and were ready to go.

Their day began with high spirits as they explored their first location, leaving flowers to the elves of Iceland and asking for their blessing for the marriage.

The rain persisted, and it was clear that some adjustments to their itinerary would be necessary. While they had to forgo a few locations they had initially planned to visit, Morgan and Rob embraced the unpredictability of the Icelandic weather with grace and flexibility. What mattered most to them were the moments they had dreamed of capturing—the first look, the connection to the land, and, most importantly, their intimate ceremony.

Their ceremony was held in a picturesque spot, Skogafoss waterfall. Having your ceremony at Skogafoss is all about the timing. Even though Morgan & Rob had a rainy day, there was still a good amount of light to have their ceremony held and with fewer amount of tourist crowds at one of the most popular waterfalls in Iceland. The couple exchanged their vows in front of their parents and got to say “I do” in Iceland.

While the rain may have altered their plans, it could not diminish the love they shared and the memories they created. They learned that an adventurous spirit and an open heart are the best companions when exploring the wonders of Iceland.

So, if you ever decide to elope in Iceland, remember Morgan and Rob's story. Be prepared for the rain, but more importantly, be prepared to embrace the beauty of the moment, no matter the weather. In the end, it's not about the locations you visit or the photos you take—it's about marrying the love of your life in a place as wild and enchanting as Iceland, rain and all.

Morgan & Rob’s testimonial:

“Lisa is a fantastic elopement planner/photographer/guide for your Icelandic wedding! Lisa sent us a personalized video message shortly after we expressed our interest in her services, it was a very thoughtful gesture and gave us a very positive first impression. Over the next few months, we periodically chatted with Lisa through email, video chat, and text, as she ensured we were on schedule for our wedding to go off without a hitch. It would definitely not have gone so smoothly without her kind reminders of things we needed to do. She was very on top of our timetable and made sure we had the proper paperwork and contacts when we needed them. Lisa made us feel not just like a client but friends, she would chat with us about our dogs or the same shows we watched.
When it was finally time to head to Iceland, she kept us updated and any problems we encountered she sorted out quickly, and was always open to make changes to suit our needs. She met us on our special day and helped make it feel even more special. She kindly guided us to get some fantastic photographs by the beautiful natural landscapes, and even introduced us to some delicious local cuisine (hot dogs, they are reaalllly good, and vegan if you need). While driving to the many locations, she kept us entertained with stories of the local people, the history, and then many names of waterfalls and landmarks. She even made last minute changes when we were getting rained out to make the most of our time, and she guided us back home when we were all done.
Over the following days she surprised us with some photos of our wedding day, and soon sent the rest. We could not have been more pleased with the results, and both would heartily recommend her to anyone planning their getaway wedding.”
