Well, hello there! I’m Lisa Marion McWhirter photographer for ADVENTURE ELOPEMENTS IN ICELAND.
I have been a photographer for eight years. This time has allowed me to offer you the best elopement experience when you elope in Iceland.
I’m passionate about outdoor activities in Iceland: from hiking adventures to ice wall climbing.

Yep, that's right—I'm a proud aficionado of all things Star Wars, Harry Potter, anime, Doctor Who, horror movies or watching programs regarding space launching. So, if you ever want to geek out over lightsabers or share your Hogwarts house, I'm your gal!

I will be there for you to open the car doors so you can quickly make it to the car under the rain, and help you carry your wedding dress lace. And ensure you can be fully present while I will handle the rest.
We donate for Tree Planting Initiatives and Local Rescue Teams
From 2023 I have donated 25 trees to be planted in Iceland.
From 2024 I donated to the local search and rescue team of Iceland.
I have also studied an official Leave No Trace course for wedding & elopement photographers and I’m a Leave No Trace aware photographer.

Leave no Trace ethics is something that has a special place in my heart and I follow it every day when I’m adventuring in Iceland and photographing couples in the landscapes of Iceland. What is Leave No Trace? It’s a framework of minimum impact practices for anyone visiting the outdoors. You can read more about it from their official site.
HOW CAN FOLLOWING LEAVE-NO-TRACE ETHICS BE SHOWN ON YOUR ELOPEMENT DAY IN ICELAND?
It’s all about setting an example for others: As couples exchange their vows amidst the grandeur of nature, they have an opportunity to inspire others. By prioritizing the principles of leaving no trace, they set an example for future generations, showcasing how it's possible to cherish and celebrate love while also respecting the environment. When we take care of the spot where you get married, you will be able to visit it years later and enjoy it just how it was years ago when you said “I do.”
By leaving no trace, we can show our respect for the intricate balance of nature and ensure that their celebration has minimal impact. Treading lightly minimizes soil erosion, protects wildlife habitats, and contributes to the overall health of the ecosystem.
Iceland is one of the most visited countries in the world and tourism has shaped the landscapes a lot. Unfortunately, many places have been closed due to people not following the trails and doing illegal off-road driving. That has left a huge impact on nature that hasn’t recovered.
With my photography business, I focus on making environmental choices and work with vendors that do the same. If my eloping couples choose to have a special activity on their day, it’s important for me to suggest them a tour company that leaves a minimal environmental impact.
