Vestrahorn elopement in Iceland | Nicole & Trevor

Nicole & Trevor’s black sand beach elopement in Iceland.

In a world filled with extravagant weddings and elaborate celebrations, there's a growing trend towards a more intimate and private way of tying the knot: elopements. For couples like Nicole and Trevor, elopement isn't just about escaping the pressures of tradition, but it's also a means of cherishing the sanctity of their love and valuing their privacy on this most special of days.

Eloping allows for an intimate and private ceremony. Shy individuals might feel overwhelmed by the attention and scrutiny that a big traditional wedding can bring. Eloping ensures that the focus is solely on the couple, making it easier for them to express their feelings and emotions.

Nicole and Trevor’s hearts were set on an area of Iceland which takes several hours to travel from Reykjavik and to access more privacy while exchanging their vows to each other. The beach played the perfect part in this since they had all the privacy they needed rather than eloping next to the Vestrahorn mountain. There was nothing else than the sound of the ocean waves and the sand below their hiking boots. After exchanging vows and rings we travelled to admire one part of the glaciers. Even though it did wind and rain by the glaciers we had so much fun taking their portrait pictures.

In a world that often prioritizes extravagance and grandeur, the intimate elopement of Nicole and Trevor serves as a beautiful reminder that love is the most important element of any wedding. It's a celebration of two people coming together, and the journey they're embarking on, against the backdrop of the world's most magnificent landscapes. It's about choosing love over everything else and valuing the beauty of privacy on your most special day.

Nicole & Trevor’s testimonial of their Iceland elopement day:

“Lisa was the best choice we made when planning our trip to Iceland! From the beginning, she was there for us in every possible way. She helped us work through every question and situation that arose before we got there and we were so impressed with her communication leading up to our elopement. I didn't feel like she was "just" our photographer the day of, we got to know each other in the months leading up and it made our day feel more personal and fun. She helped me feel confident and stress-free too! We really appreciated how knowledgeable she was about our locations and Iceland as a whole, it felt like we had our own personal tour guide and learned so much about the country. On our day we had some unfavourable weather but Lisa still made it fun, she made the best of situations and it turned out to be an adventure we will never forget. We got our photos back so quickly and were over the moon with how they turned out. We have gotten so many compliments on them. I cannot recommend McWhiter elopements enough - you will be so thankful you chose someone who is great at what they do but also really takes care of her couples. Thank you for making our elopement so special Lisa!”
