A little adventure. All your favourite people. And a wedding that feels like you.
Benjamin & Cole,
It was so lovely getting to chat with you both and hearing what you're imagining for your day in Iceland.
One of the things I really liked about our conversation was how you want to keep things simple, without losing the things that make a wedding feel special.
Getting ready separately with your friends, making your way to a beautiful spot somewhere in the Icelandic landscape, and exchanging your vows with the people you love around you.
And then, of course, celebrating properly afterwards. Because a wedding day that ends with pizza and a dance party sounds pretty wonderful to me. 😄
I can already see a lovely direction for your day, with a little hiking adventure, plenty of room to enjoy the experience, and no need to turn it into something more complicated than you want.
Here's what I'm imagining for you both.
A wedding with a little adventure and a whole lot of celebrating.
What I love about the direction we're discussing is that your wedding doesn't need to be complicated to feel extraordinary.
We can start the morning in Vík, with each of you getting ready separately, surrounded by your friends. There is something lovely about having those moments to yourselves before seeing each other for the first time at your ceremony.
Then comes the adventure.
We've talked about Bláfjallafoss or perhaps another location that involves a little hiking. Somewhere you can make the journey together with your family and friends, arrive at a beautiful spot, and exchange your vows with the people who matter most standing beside you. Tying the knot with the handfasting
A place that feels right for both of you, but also works comfortably for your guests. After all, the adventure should be something everyone gets to enjoy.
And once you're married? We don't need to spend the rest of the day racing between multiple locations and trying to fit 5 locations into one day.
Maybe it's pizza at Black Crust, a little time to relax, and then everyone getting together for that dance party you've been talking about. If Hotel Katla becomes your base, we can explore how it might fit into the celebration too.
A beautiful ceremony, a bit of adventure, good food, and a proper celebration with your people.
That sounds like a pretty wonderful way to get married.
Just Us — Your Iceland Elopement Experience
I think Just Us would be a lovely fit for the wedding you're imagining.
You already know the important parts:
You want to get married somewhere beautiful
Have your family and friends there with you
Enjoy a little adventure, and celebrate together afterwards.
We don't need to add a dozen other things to make your day feel complete.
What we do need is a thoughtful plan that brings everything together.
That means finding a ceremony location that works for you and your guests, figuring out how everyone gets there, and making sure there's enough time to enjoy the hike, the ceremony, and those first moments of being married without feeling rushed.
I'll also help you navigate the process of getting legally married in Iceland, connect you with the right people, and build a plan that takes August weather and location access into account.
And because we haven't settled on your exact date yet, we can keep the early August dates we've discussed on hold while you make that decision, subject to our agreed arrangements.
Just Us gives us a wonderful starting point to create a wedding that feels personal, relaxed, and genuinely enjoyable for everyone involved.
The adventure is there if you want it. The celebration is absolutely there.
And the complicated bits? Those are the things I'll help you work through, so you can focus on getting married and having a brilliant day together.
The morning | Two separate beginnings in Vík
Your wedding morning begins in Vík, with each of you getting ready separately, surrounded by your closest friends.
There might be music playing, a little nervous excitement, someone making everyone laugh, and those final moments before you head off to get married.
We'll make sure there's enough time for both of you to enjoy getting ready without feeling like you need to watch the clock.
And when it's time to leave, you'll head towards the ceremony in separate cars, keeping that first moment of seeing each other for the place where you'll exchange your vows.
The adventure | Somewhere worth the journey
We've talked about Bláfjallafoss, and I think exploring a hiking ceremony could be a wonderful direction for you.
Imagine arriving with your family and friends, stepping out into the Icelandic landscape, and making your way towards the place where you're going to get married.
It doesn't need to be a difficult hike or a huge expedition. We'll choose somewhere that feels adventurous enough for you, while making sure your guests can comfortably be part of it.
Bláfjallafoss is one possibility, but we'll explore other locations too before making the final decision.
The ceremony | Just the two of you, and your favourite people
This is the moment everything has been leading towards.
You'll see each other, surrounded by the people who have travelled to Iceland to celebrate with you.
There'll be your vows, the excitement of finally getting married, and probably a few happy tears from the people watching.
And once the ceremony is over, I don't want to rush you away.
There should be time for hugs, congratulations, a few group photographs, and simply enjoying the fact that you're now married.
Pizza and celebration
After the ceremony and our little adventure, we can make our way back towards Vík.
And I have to say, the idea of heading to Black Crust for pizza after getting married somewhere in the Icelandic landscape is rather brilliant.
And then comes the part I know you're looking forward to.
The dance party!
The important thing is that you get to finish your wedding day the way you want to: having fun with the people you love.
No pressure to follow a traditional wedding schedule.
Just a really good day, from beginning to end.
Your Just Us Experience
You already have the most important part figured out: how you want your wedding to feel and what matters to you.
My job is to help bring everything together, from finding the right place for your ceremony to making sure the day flows comfortably for both of you and your guests.
Here's what we'll work on together:
Your ceremony location
We'll explore Bláfjallafoss and other possible hiking locations, considering the scenery, privacy, accessibility, and how comfortably your family and friends can join you.
A wedding day designed around you
I'll create a personalised timeline that gives you both time to get ready separately, enjoy your ceremony, and celebrate afterwards without squeezing too much into one day.
Planning your legal ceremony
I'll help you find the right officiant for your ceremony.
Weather planning and flexibility
We'll build a thoughtful plan around your chosen location, with alternatives ready if Iceland decides to change things. The goal is to protect the experience, even if we need to adjust the details.
Photography throughout your experience
I'll be there to document the meaningful parts of your wedding, from the adventure and the moments you share with your favourite people, within your chosen coverage.
Support throughout the planning process
You won't have to figure everything out on your own. I'll be here to help with decisions, recommendations, and the practical questions that come up along the way.
The result is a wedding that's been thoughtfully planned, while still leaving you free to enjoy it as it happens.
Your investment- Just us
You've already got a wonderful idea for your wedding. Now we get to make it happen.
With Just Us, we'll take everything we've discussed and turn it into a thoughtfully planned Iceland wedding, with the support, guidance, and photography to enjoy the experience without having to manage all the details yourselves.
Just Us — $4,200 USD
Your booking fee: $2,100 USD (50%). Can also be put into payment plans.
Your experience includes the personalised planning and photography services outlined above.
Any additional arrangements, such as your officiant, guest transportation, accommodation, meals, or evening celebration, would be organised and priced separately.
Reserving your wedding
Since you're still deciding on your exact date in early August, I'm happy to keep the dates we've discussed on hold for you while you make that decision.
And then we can get into the fun part: finding your ceremony location, shaping your wedding day, and bringing all those lovely ideas from our conversation together.
From here, I’ve got you.
Benjamin & Cole,
I'm genuinely excited about what we could create together.
I love that you're bringing your favourite people to Iceland, that you're open to a little hiking adventure, and that you're just as excited about celebrating afterwards as you are about finding somewhere beautiful to exchange your vows.
I think there's something really lovely about keeping your wedding simple and making room for the things that actually matter to you.
From there, I'll guide you through the planning, help you find the right ceremony location, and make sure we build a day that works for both of you and everyone joining you.
You don't need to have all the answers right now. That's what we'll figure out together.
And personally, I'm very much looking forward to seeing how this hiking adventure, Icelandic wedding, pizza, and dance party combination turns out. 😄
Let's make this happen!
Lisa
