Travelling from California, Allen and Kijoo decided to take a trip to Iceland to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary. When Kijoo and Allen said they wanted to see Diamond beach, we saw it was packed full of people. However, then we suggested a few places where they could see dramatic forces of nature instead: Walking next to the glaciers and exploring the beautiful beach was exactly the experience they were looking for!

The glacier close to Diamond beach is named Breiðamerkurjökull. The ice breaks from the glacier itself and makes its way to the Jökulsarlon glacier lagoon which is in the area and where you get to see the drifted glaciers closer by. When the glaciers manage to escape the lagoon most will be smaller ice chunks that will end up being part of Diamond beach. It’s also a glacier known for its outstanding ice caves.

For the glacier pictures, Kijoo had chosen to have a beautiful dark outstanding dress that popped out nicely while having the glacier as the backdrop. The area had many tourists visiting but luckily we managed to get a spot where we got to take some pictures and feel the coldness coming from the glaciers! You want to have your warm jacket close by while having pics taken at this location!

The other beautiful spot was a private beach close to Vestrahorn next to an ocean. The wind was pretty cold and strong, Kijoo and Allen handled it perfectly and we were able to get some very lovely pictures. For these pictures, Kijoo had such a cute dress where the colour popped out beautifully from the black sand. We had the beach entirely for us and that was great fun to explore the beach.
