Being right next to the roaring and misting waterfall, professing our love and commitment to each other was exhilarating! It's a feeling and memory I will never forget.

“We chose to have our ceremony at Kvernufoss per Lisa’s suggestion and we were not disappointed one bit. We originally wanted to have the ceremony at Seljalandsfoss, but knew there would be numerous tourists there and didn’t want that lack of privacy. Lisa suggested Kvernufoss, as you still get to be right up to the waterfall, but without all the tourists. It really is a beautiful hidden gem! We were able to have the ceremony be whatever we wanted it to be, and not a single tourist showed up, so we had the waterfall all to ourselves. It was the most magical experience.”

Kvernufoss has become more and more popular in the last year. Due to this, they have restricted areas where you can go near the waterfall. They do this to protect the land at Kvernufoss and for tourists not to destroy the area. Still, there has been massive damage to the land. Please follow Leave No Trace when visiting the waterfall and don’t step into places that are closed just for pictures.
